The Ark of the Covenant is a most sacred religious relic. Described as a wooden storage chest decorated in solid gold, with an ornamental lid.
The Ark is said to contain the Tablets of the Law (The 10 Commandments), by which God delivered the Commandments to Moses at Mount Sinai. As well as containing Aaron’s Rod and a pot of Manna.Legend maintains that the Ark disappeared during the Babylonian sacking of Jerusalem in 586 BC. Archaeologists believe there are no reliable records of the Ark’s whereabouts after this date. With places such as Ireland, South Africa, Rome, Ethiopia, and even an American military warehouse being claimed where the Ark can be found.
